Do I need to book Shibuya Sky in advance?
For sunset, yes, and immediately. Tickets go on sale about 30 days ahead and the golden-hour slots are usually gone within a few days. Daytime slots are much easier.
How far ahead should I book Shibuya Sky?
One to three weeks for a daytime slot. For sunset, book the day the slot opens, which is roughly a month before your date. There is no way to book earlier than that.
Can you buy Shibuya Sky tickets on the day?
Sometimes. Same-day tickets are sold at the counter on the 14th floor at a higher price, subject to whatever is left. On a clear evening in April there is nothing left.
